problema con VMware su Fedora 6

Salve, ho da poco installato fedora core 6 sul mio PC e di conseguenza anche VMware per utilizzare il sistema op. winxp come macchina virtuale visto che ho diversi programmi windows da utilizzare.
Ma dopo aver installato VMware, esso NON PARTE e quindi non riesco ad installare win come macchina virtuale.
Ho notato pero' le due voci "VMware player" e "VMware workstation" sotto il menu a comparsa da "Applicazioni-strumenti di sistema" ma anche da li NON parte!.
puo' dipendere dal sistema operativo o da altro?
qualcuno  mi potrebbe aiutare?

Ciao,
Allora la cosa è semplice:
1) scarica il file vmwareanyany1XX.tar.gz (non mi sovviene il link ora, ma ce cerchi in Google lo trovi), dove XX stanno per il valore più alto (io uso il 108).
2) Decomprimi il file e lancia il file runme.pl
3) alla fine ti sarà chiesto di configurare vmware, rispondi di sì e segui le istruzioni a video.

Ciao Mauro, ecco quello che mi succede al comando di config di vmware alla fine non mi fa andare avanti dopo sver dato enter (default) a tutte le domande come sotto riportate:

Niente di grave, ti mancano i sorgenti del kernel, da root:

$ yum install kernel-devel

Se hai installato la patch vmwareanyany non dovresti avere più problemi

Ciao, ho dato il comando yum install............ pero' alla fine mi dice di installare la versione kernel-devel 2.6.20-1.2944.fc6 (vedi sotto) ma io invece ho attualmente installato il kernel.......vedi sotto:
[*****@*****~]$ uname -r
2.6.20-1.2948.fc6

mentre il kernel-devel non è installato, vedi sotto:
[*****@******~]$ rpm -q Kernel-devel
package Kernel-devel is not installed


A meno che non ci sia qualche altro errore....
Come devo procedere?

Come al solito mi chiede gli header del kernel ma io li ho installati, come vedi ho dato questi comandi e mi dice:

[root@********]# uname -r

Cosa dovrei fare ora?

Scusa il ritardo :-). Ma il lavoro mi ha tenuto più che occupato.
Allora vediamo un po' la prima cosa che potresti fare è di inviare un uname -a e non -r, penso che qualche informazione in più anche se inutile sarebbe opportuna. Poi una domanda hai installato una 32 bit ed hai un processore Pentium 4? Se si hai cambiato il kernel con quello corretto?
